Four things a stainless supplier has to get right

Anyone can weld a box out of 304. What decides whether it survives a validation review is the grade you can prove, the corners you cannot clean, the drawing nobody checked and the finish nobody specified.

Material you can trace

Every job runs on SS 304 or SS 316/316L sourced against mill test certificates. The grade goes on the drawing, on the part and on the paperwork, so a QA auditor asking "which heat number" gets an answer rather than a shrug.

Hygienic by construction

Finish specified, not assumed

Mirror, matt or bead-blasted, called out in Ra rather than adjectives. Contact surfaces are finished to the spec the process needs — a sampling thief and a mopping trolley do not need the same answer.

How we work

Enquiry to despatch, without the guesswork

Five steps, and you approve the drawing before anything is cut. The point of the sequence is that no surprise arrives at the goods-in dock.

    Send the size, grade, quantity and where it sits in the line. A photograph of the part being replaced is usually enough to start.

    A dimensioned GA comes back for approval. Nothing is cut until you have signed off the port positions and the finish.

    Fabrication

    Cut, formed and TIG welded in the Vasai shop, then ground, polished and passivated to the approved spec.

    Dimensional check, weld inspection and finish verification, with the paperwork you asked for attached.

Before you enquire

Questions that come up every time

Do you make sizes that are not in the catalogue?

That is most of the work. The listed sizes are the ones that repeat often enough to be worth naming — filter housings, drain traps, trolleys and vessels are otherwise built to the drawing. Send dimensions, port sizes and the grade you need and you will get a GA back to approve.

Which grade should I be asking for — 304 or 316L?

As a rule: 304 for structural and non-contact items in a dry or mildly wet area — trolleys, benches, ladders, SOP stands. 316L where there is chloride, solvent or direct product contact — samplers, vessels, filter housings and anything in a washdown zone. If the service is borderline, tell us the media and we will say which one we would build it in.

Can you supply material test certificates?

Yes. Mill test certificates for the plate and pipe, plus a material declaration for the finished item, are available on request. Ask for them at the enquiry stage so the right heat is reserved for your job.

What finish do the product-contact surfaces come in?

Mirror polish by default on samplers, scoops, jugs and vessel interiors; matt or bead-blasted where a mirror finish is not wanted. Ra values are specified on the drawing rather than left to interpretation, and electropolishing can be added.

How long does a fabricated item take?

Catalogue sizes usually ship from stock. Fabricated items typically run two to four weeks from the day the drawing is approved, depending on size and the polish specified. Rush jobs are worth asking about — say what the date is and you will get a straight answer.

Do you deliver outside Maharashtra?

Yes. Despatch is ex-works Vasai with road and rail freight arranged pan-India. Export packing and crating are available for overseas consignments.
